Mark received his Bachelor's of Education degree at Carroll College (1979), in Helena, Montana, and later, a Masters in Supervision and Curriculum from Gonzaga (1990). Throughout his teaching career, Mark has taught within the Spokane area. He has 13 years experience in Spokane's parochial school system, 6 of those as an administrator. This is his 16th year in APPLE.

Here at Garfield, Mark has been active in extracurricular activities, including Cross Country, the Fit for Bloomsday program and is an advisor for the Garfield's service organization, PAWS. He also has been the school's testing coordinator for several years.

Mark is married to Mary, his wife of 24 years. They have four children. Heather, the oldest, is a sophomore at Whitworth University. David is a senior at Shadle Park, while Michelle will be a a freshman there. Rachel is in the 7th grade at St. Charles School.

A Montana native, Mark enjoys annual visits to Glacier National Park, enjoys music (guitar and recorder), running, and bicycling.
